Stop a running watch daemon for the given repository

Synopsis

What it does: Mark a repository watch as inactive by updating the state file. The next daemon poll cycle detects the inactive flag and stops automatically. Safe to call even when no daemon is running - exits 0 with an informational message.

Who it's for: Both: power devs deactivating automated triage workflows and non-technical users.

When to use it: When you want to stop a watch daemon started with ak watch start --daemon, or deactivate a repository from automated triage.

Examples: ak watch stop owner/repo # stop watching a repository ak watch stop owner/repo --json # emit confirmation as JSON

What changes on disk: Writes active=false to ~/.agentkit/watch/<repo-slug>/state.json.

Output modes: pretty default on TTY (colors, ASCII markers) plain auto when stdout piped or --no-interactive json --json (single-object envelope, NDJSON-safe)

Exit codes: 0 success 1 runtime error 2 invalid flags 3 user-cancel (SIGINT, prompt-cancel)

Options

  -h, --help             help for stop
      --json             Emit machine-readable JSON (implies --no-interactive)
      --no-interactive   Disable interactive prompts (CI-safe)
  -q, --quiet            Suppress non-error output on stderr
  -V, --verbose          Extra diagnostic output on stderr (loses to --quiet)
  -y, --yes              Assume yes for all prompts
