ak skill upgrade

Re-resolve the per-skill env after editing skill.yaml

Synopsis

What it does: After editing the runtime: block in skill.yaml, this command re-hashes the live block and reinstalls into a fresh cache dir if the hash drifted. No-op when the hash already matches the on-disk manifest.

Who it's for: Kit authors, power devs maintaining their kits.

When to use it: After editing the runtime: block (use ak skill repair instead when verify reports corrupt).

Examples: ak skill upgrade marketing/youtube ak skill upgrade engineer/web-testing

What changes on disk: May write to a new ~/.agentkit/cache/<new-hash>/ and refresh ~/.agentkit/skills/<kit>/<skill>/.manifest.json. Old cache dir is preserved.

Output modes: pretty default on TTY (colors, ASCII markers) plain auto when stdout piped or --no-interactive json --json (single-object envelope, NDJSON-safe)

Exit codes: 0 success 1 runtime error 2 invalid flags 3 user-cancel (SIGINT, prompt-cancel) 4 missing tool (uv / pnpm) or skill has no runtime block 5 kit or skill not found

ak skill upgrade <kit>/<skill> [flags]
